Stena Line: Shared cabins to become standard on North Sea routes
Starting October 1, 2026, Stena Line will introduce shared cabins as the standard for accompanied cargo bookings on its North Sea routes.
Sharing cabins is intended to make better use of available cabin capacity, increase availability for truck drivers, and speed up booking confirmations.
What does this mean for carriers?
- Shared cabins are becoming the standard accommodation for accompanied cargo bookings.
- Assignments are made within the same company and/or among employees of the same nationality.
- Single cabins can still be requested when booking through the Stena Line portal.
- Single cabins can be booked for an additional fee, subject to availability. Once a single cabin has been confirmed, it is guaranteed.
- The single-occupancy surcharge applies only if a room is available and the reservation has been confirmed.
With this change, Stena Line aims to improve flexibility and availability for accompanied freight shipments. The option to book a single cabin remains available.
You can also book all Stena routes for trucks with drivers through Transcamion. We’d be happy to provide you with information about available routes, schedules, and current freight rates, and to prepare a customized quote for your shipments.
