Scandlines Expands Automated Check-in for Truck Drivers

Faster, easier and paperless: Automated self-service check-in now available for all booked vehicle lengths in Puttgarden and Rødby

Scandlines continues to expand its digital port processes by further developing its automated self-service check-in for freight traffic. Following a successful pilot phase, the service is now available for all booked vehicle lengths at the ports of Puttgarden and Rødby.

For truck drivers, this means a simpler and faster check-in process upon arrival at the port. The automated system enables a paperless process and helps reduce waiting times, increase flexibility upon arrival and improve operational efficiency at the ports.

Increased Capacity for Automated Check-in

Two automated lanes are available for self-service check-in in Puttgarden, while Rødby has three automated lanes. In addition, vehicle lengths are measured automatically, supporting more efficient planning and handling of port operations.

Scandlines will continue to carry out targeted checks, for example to verify vehicle length and weight. Certain transports, including dangerous goods, live animals and high-and-heavy cargo, as well as vehicles requiring an onboard power connection, may still require manual check-in.
